THE WHO: Returning to Cincinnati Area

The Who will return to the Cincinnati area for their first concert there since December 3rd, 1979 -- when 11 people were trampled to death and two dozen others were injured while trying to enter their show at the Riverfront Coliseum.

The band made the announcement Tuesday night on the 40th anniversary of that tragic event. The concert will take place April 23rd at Northern Kentucky University’s BB&T Arena, which is about seven miles south of the original concert site.

The announcement came after Cincinnati TV station WCPO aired an hour-long documentary about the tragic incident.

In addition to the Cincy-area date, the band also added dates in Hollywood, Florida at Hard Rock Live on April 21st, and six nights at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on May 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 14th and 16th.
