DOORS: Remembering Ray Manzarek

Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek will be remembered in a new film,The Doors: Break on Thru - A Celebration of Ray Manzarek, which will be shown in theaters worldwide on February 12th -- which would have been his 80th birthday.

The documentary was shot February 12th, 2016 at a memorial concert in Hollywood. Guitarist Robby Krieger and drummer John Densmore of The Doors were joined by Stone Temple Pilots bassistRobert De Leo,Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins and keyboardist Rami Jaffee. Also on stage were guitarist Brian Ray of Paul McCartney's band, Jane's Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins,Gov't Mule and Allman Brothers Band guitarist Warren Haynes and John Doe and Exene CervenkaofX.

The film was directed by Justin Kreutzmann, the son of Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann, and includes some vintage footage of The Doors. The show was a cancer benefit. Manzarek died of the disease on May 20th, 2013.
