Allman Brothers, Foreigner, Doors and More Rock Nuggets

The 50th anniversary of The Allman Brothers Band will be recognized with a tribute concert in March. Drummer Jaimoe(Jai Johanny Johanson) and guitarist Dickey Betts are the only original members left, but Betts won’t take part due to health issues.Gregg Allman’s son Devon and Dickey’s son Duane play together in the Allman Betts Band.

To mark the 10th anniversary of Foreigner’s little-known Can’t Slow Down album, the track “In Pieces” has been re-released on all digital services.Can’t Slow Down was the first album to feature singer Kelly Hansen.

The fourth annual Day of The Doors will be held on January 4th at the original Morrison Hotel in Los Angeles. The façade of the hotel is being restored to look exactly as it did when the band shot the cover for the Morrison Hotel album. Guitarist Robby Krieger will perform at the event.

The AC/DC singles "Back in Black" and "You Shook Me All Night Long" have been certified triple-platinum. "Hell's Bells" and "Shoot to Thrill" are now platinum. A week ago, the band’s Back in Black album was certified 25-times platinum.

Cheap Trick will do another tour opening for ZZ Top, this time in Canada in May. They opened ZZ’s 50th anniversary tour in the U.S. earlier this year.

Peter Frampton will say goodbye to his native England when he takes his Finale Tour there in May. It will conclude at London’s Royal Albert Hall on May 31st.  

Vault 9: Live in Seattle 12/8/93, a vintage Pearl Jam concert now on streaming services, features covers of The Beatles’ "I've Got a Feeling" and Neil Young’s "Rockin' in the Free World," plus two songs -- "Last Exit" and "Tremor Christ" -- that would be released a year later on Vitalogy.Vault 9 is also available on vinyl through the band's website and will be out on CD and digital next year.

Mike Campbell of Fleetwood Mac and The Heartbreakers will help open the new Brooklyn Bowl location in Nashville with his band,The Dirty Knobs, on March 15th.

Bob Dylan’s Christmas in the Heart, released in 2009, is number-16 on Billboard’s list of the "21 Best Christmas Albums of the 21st Century."
