Girls Donate To Pay Off School Lunch Debts

Two 10-year-old girls in Montana hope to make the holiday season brighter for some of their classmates this year by paying off the school lunch debt of others ... with their own Christmas money.

Julie Foret and Shawnna McLaughlin realized that they had plenty of toys already and worried about some of their classmates that wouldn’t get gifts this year, so they pooled their Christmas money together and donated $120 to the school to wipe out the lunch debt of those students who had fallen behind.

Their hope is that the donation frees up some money in the family budget, which will allow some gifts to be given that wouldn’t otherwise have been afforded. They said, they just want other people to be as happy as they are on Christmas. (Bozeman Daily Chronicle)
