Roger Daltrey has announced a 12-date tour in which he will perform The Who's Tommy backed by an orchestra.
He'll start it off on June 8th in Bethel, New York on the site of the Woodstock festival -- where The Who performed parts of the rock opera in August 1969 -- and will wrap it up a month later, July 8th, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
Talking about the tour, Daltrey says, "I'm really looking forward to singing Tommy, not only with my great backing group, but also some of the finest orchestras in the country. Pete Townshend’s rock music is particularly suited to being embellished by the sounds that an orchestra can add to the band... It should make a memorable night of entertainment for all those who love the arts.”
