DOORS: Their Day in L.A. -- Again

It looks like L.A.'s Day of the Doors celebration has turned into an annual thing.

Last year, the 50th anniversary of the release of the band's debut album on January 4th, 1967 was celebrated with a ceremony and brief performance by the two surviving members in Venice, where The Doors first came together.

Today, the "second annual" Day of the Doors  will take place at the intersection of Morrison Street and Densmore Avenue in the Encino section of town. A special street sign will be unveiled, and drummer John Densmore will read some of late singer Jim Morrison's poetry.
