The 2002 tribute concert to the late George Harrison will be reissued next month to coincide with what would have been his 75th birthday. It will be available in several audio and video formats -- including, for the first time, vinyl.
Concert for George was organized by Eric Clapton at London's Royal Albert Hall, with a who's who of rock royalty, starting with surviving Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. They were joined by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Billy Preston, Jeff Lynne and Procol Harum's Gary Brooker. The deluxe sets offer, for the first time, every performance from the historic show.
Just 1000 copies of the Deluxe Box Set will be sold. It features the complete sound and film recordings from the concert, a 60-page hard-bound book and a cutting from the original hand-painted on-stage tapestry used as the backdrop.
The reissues go on sale February 25th, a day after George's birthday.
