The Grammy Awards are this Sunday night at Madison Square Garden, and outside of scheduled performances by Elton John, Sting and U2, there won't be much music for classic rock fans.

Though a handful of artists have been nominated, all those awards will be handed out in the pre-telecast ceremony underneath the arena in the Theater at Madison Square Garden. You can watch that online. Here's a list of the elder statesmen who have been nominated:

  • The late Gregg Allman scored two nominations -- Best American Roots Song for "My Only True Friend" and Best Americana Album for his last studio effort, Southern Blood.
  • Bob Dylan's Triplicate is up for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.
  • Bruce Springsteen's narration of his memoir, Born to Run, is in the running for Best Spoken Word Album.
  • The Rolling Stones are one of the finalists for Best Traditional Blues Album for Blue & Lonesome. And Live From The Fox Oakland from the Tedeschi Trucks Band (featuring Allman Brothers guitarist Derek Trucks) is nominated for Best Contemporary Blues Album.
