9-Year-Old Pays It Forward, Gets Rewarded

9-year-old Mikah Frye of Beachwood, Ohio, knows what it's like to fall on hard times. Three years ago, his family lost their home and had to live in a shelter. Every day, Mikah would get a blanket to keep warm, and every day, he would have to give that blanket back to the shelter.

Thankfully, things got better for his family. But Mikah didn’t forget what he and his family had gone through. Mikah knew that he would be getting a $300 Xbox this year for Christmas. He also knew that, at about $10 a blanket, he could buy 30 blankets for those in need instead of getting that Xbox. So instead of getting the gaming console, he decided to buy blankets instead -- and give them to the homeless.

"He knew what it was like to not have a blanket at night and have to give it back," said his grandmother, Terry Brant. "So the first thing he wanted to do was give a blanket that they could keep."

News of Mikah’s selfless act spread, and even got to Xbox manufacturer Microsoft, who rewarded Mikah for his generous spirit by surprising him with a brand-new Xbox console. (Good News Network)
