After helping his friend Adam Levine celebrate his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, Sammy Hagar flew to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to help another friend on Saturday.
The Red Rocker joined celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse at his inaugural charity fishing tournament, with the proceeds going to the Emeril Lagasse Foundation in support of local charities.
Hagar says, "An hour into the boat ride we saw this big gorgeous gunmetal gray 86-foot Riva yacht with a few beautiful people on it -- I looked closer and noticed it was Kenny Chesney! I screamed at him and he stopped, backed up, and Emeril handed over a big plate of ribs and a jar of beautiful caviar... Then Kenny showed up at the event later that night at the Marina Club House and jumped on stage to sing a really soft version of 'Eagles Fly.' [My guitarist] Vic [Johnson] and I played an acoustic set for over an hour... It was an unbelievably satisfying and successful event!"
Sammy then headed north to Nashville, where he interviewed Vince Neil at his ranch and Peter Frampton in his studio for his AXS-TV show, Rock and Roll Road Trip. On Sunday, AXS will replay season one of the show while Sammy takes part in a Facebook Live chat.
And in other Hagar news, as promised, his side band, Chickenfoot, has released the video for "Divine Termination," off the new album Best + Live, which will be out on March 3rd.
