BEATLES: Paul Recorded With Ringo Over the Weekend

Here's news to make any Beatles fan smile: Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr recorded together over the weekend.

Paul stopped by Ringo's home studio to contribute to the drummer's upcoming album. The guys also posed for a photo that Starr tweeted along with the caption: "Thanks for coming over and playing great bass. I love you man, peace and love."

Sir Paul wasn't the only luminary to stop by Ringo's home studio. The next image Ringo tweeted included Paul, Ringo and Joe Walsh. That one carried the message: "Joe W came out to play -- what a day I'm having. Peace and love." Walsh is Ringo's brother-in-law.

This was the first time in seven years the surviving Beatles had recorded together. Their previous effort was for Ringo's Y Not album in 2010, where McCartney played bass on the song “Peace Dream” and sang on “Walk With You.”

The still-untitled album, expected in June, will be a star-studded affair, with contributions from Peter Frampton, Nathan East, Richard Marx, Belmont Tench, Timothy B. Schmit and Richard Page.
