Jimmy Page has dug into his tape vaults and will self-release his very first production through his website.
In 1961, five years before he joined The Yardbirds and seven before he started Led Zeppelin, Page produced an album's worth of demos for Chris Farlowe and the Thunderbirds. On April 30th, he will release The Beginning in a CD plus-vinyl-LP package and a deluxe limited-edition signed by himself and Farlowe. He's currently taking pre-orders for both and you can hear a cut from it at JimmyPage.com.
Farlowe is an English blue-eyed soul and R&B singer who had a British hit with a 1966 cover of The Rolling Stones' "Out of Time." He actually cut a handful of Jagger-Richards songs while recording for Stones' manager Andrew Loog Oldham's Immediate Records label, most with Page as a session guitarist.
