High school senior Kaelyn Brakefield is looking forward to her prom and will have the youngest date there. She'll also have the bravest and most special date.
Kaelyn couldn't think of anyone she'd rather ask than 9-year-old Beckett Wyatt.
Beckett is battling stage-four Ewing sarcoma and Kaelyn says wants to make sure he gets to go to a high school prom.
Kaelyn says she learned about Beckett's diagnosis because he's a classmate of her younger sister. She says, "I wanted to take Beckett because what if he never gets to? I want him to be able to do the things I got to do."
So Kaelyn made a Hamilton-inspired promposal sign which read, "There’s a million things I haven’t done, but just you wait … Beckett, will you be my PROM DATE?”
Beckett gladly accepted the invitation and joked that he was looking forward to shoving Kaelyn's face in the punch bowl. (Us Weekly)
