Nirvana left a lasting impression on the host of its second and final appearance as musical guests on Saturday Night Live -- NBA great Charles Barkley.
In a recent appearance on The Dan Patrick Show, Barkley said he didn't know anything about the group when he was asked to host the show in September 1993, but thought the band was "fantastic." He remembers all the guys being "nice" and thinks Courtney [Love] was there with them, too. However, he recalls that the dressing rooms at SNL are really close to each other and that every time they opened their door he "got like a contact high. It was like one of those big mushroom clouds came [out]."
Barkley, who says he's only ever smoked weed five times and that all it did was make him want to eat potato chips, even remembers being "scared to go to the airport" afterwards. You can check out video of his appearance on YouTube.
