Elton John has always been outspoken about his love for music on vinyl, so it's natural he should support Record Store Day. On April 22nd, his landmark live album, 11-17-70, will be available on two 12-inch records.
Named this year's Record Store Day Legend, Elton says the album is "probably one of the best live albums of all time. I'm never one to say good things about myself, but it is pretty fabulous."
Recorded at a New York City radio broadcast, the original release included only six of the 13 songs he performed. For this special reissue, six more songs have been added: "I Need You to Turn To," "Your Song," "Country Comfort," "Border Song," "Indian Sunset" and "My Father's Gun." The seventh song from his original set, "Amoreena," was included on a 1996 reissue.
