McBob, the Guns N' Roses guitar tech who also introduces them, screwed up Tuesday night at their show in Melbourne, Australia when he said, "Hello, Sydney." The flub drew a few boos and the band tweeted about it afterwards with Slash saying, "Apologies for the Spinal Tap intro!," and Duff McKagan adding, "Don't be to hard on McBob for saying 'Sydney' in the intro. His wife and family are from here."
In McBob's defense, it happens to the best of them. Just over a year ago, during his show in Cleveland, Bruce Springsteen said, "Pittsburgh!.......and Cleveland too!...." He made a similar mistake a few years before that, too.
The Guns and Springsteen tours Down Under continue with GnR in Adelaide on Saturday and Bruce and the E Street Band in Boondall on Thursday.
