The first round of the College Football Playoff got underway this weekend and Doug laments the lack of quality, compelling games now that we have 12 teams represented. He thinks the committee sacrificed competitiveness to make the seeding seem more equitable and the games suffered for it.
Doug Gottlieb: “Deserving to be in and winning are not necessarily the same thing...I told you for the last two weeks this was too fair, too equitable, too even, for the realities of college football...I understand a first year playoff you’re going to make some adjustments, you’re going to fix some things moving forward, but we’ve had zero truly competitive, compelling games; none.”
